Photo this: waves rolling in, a salty wind screwing up your hair, and a plate of fresh oysters being in front of you. That's The Sandbar at Deauville Inn in Strathmere, New Jersey. It's not simply an area to consume-- it's where you go to absorb the beach life. The view's unbelievable, the entire Atlantic stretched out like it's revealing off, and the energy's perfect, someplace between chill and humming. I vow, every single time I go, it seems like striking the reset button.

The food selection's got all the shore classics-- clams, fish sandwiches, you call it-- but they do not skimp on alternatives. If I'm not in the state of mind for seafood, I'll get a salad or something simple, always with a cold drink to match. You're resting there, outdoors all about, with seagulls jumping and maybe some individual strumming a guitar close by. It's not expensive, and that's why it works. You seem like you belong to the beach, not simply looking at it.

It's excellent whether I'm simply quiting by for lunch or satisfying up with friends for a sunset hang. Doesn't matter if you roll up sandy from the coastline or connect up a boat nearby, they're cool with it.
